week 10 interactive website idea

I think a good idea of a interactive website would be a virtual dating site. At the site you can meet people online from all over the world and go on virtual dates while skyping at the same time. There are a ton of dating sites out now and this would be an origional idea. I think it would be like the sims game with skype!

week 9 ....

So far in the semester it has been the most difficult of all of my college career. I have never gotten a grade lower than a C. This makes it extremly discouraging for me because I have come so far now at the end of my colege career. I am gonna hope that I can pass all my classes with hard work and dedication I know that anything is possible. I am the first in my family to attend college and I hope to accomplish my goal of being the first to graduate as well.

week 9uml drake concert

This week I attended my first UML activity which was a concert put on my the college starring the rapper Drake. The concert was amazing drakes performances were incrediable. To my surprise UML students party realllllly hard! There was at least 9 brawls, 4 people taken out on stretchers, 3 drunk girls falling down the stairs in heels etc. It was an experience to say the least but all in all I enjoyed my self. These are pictures from the concert of my two friends I went with brittany and Matty and DRAKE on stage!

This is a picture of me, my niece and my little cousin they are my inspiration. These two little girls look up to me and admire all that I do. I am a role model to these girls so I try to portray a positive message to them that education is important and it can take you far. I also like to stress what it is to be a good person. I truly believe that a persons character determines there whole life. How you treat people is a topic that I like to discuss with them because bullying is turning into a huge problem!

My week thus far..

My week has been stressful so far. I had a statistics exam and I didn't do well. I'm in the process of trying to get a promotion and writing essays for that process. Stress is consuming me these days so I started to get back in the gym and working on my fitness. Before I know it the year will be over starting the new year off with a resolution to get healthy and succeed in school to be able to graduate in the spring. I have planned a number of vations for next year including Las Vegas and Jamaica! So I am tryin to stay poitive and let the stress roll of my back!

Experiences from having created a feedback form ....

My experience from having created a feedback form is that it was pretty simple to create. I found it beneficial to learn the diffrent codes for drop down boxes on birthdates as well as making diffrent categories. I think every website should have a form lke this available for compliments and complaints. It was also interesting to see a few of the students websites and see what it consisted of.

An interactive web application that I use is the village. The village lets you make your own website and it has a lot of features that are similar to popular social networking site. You can share your videos and photos. The village allows you to create blogs on your site and share them with other users. There are forums with different discussion topics that members correspond to. If you are in need of a job or looking to buy something you can go to their classified section which is very helpful.  The village also has an instant message feature where members can chat with one another directly. Those are just a few features of the village that I think make it a amazing site but the best thing about it is it’s easy to use free!

My idea of a interactive website...

My idea of a interactive website would be one related to fashion. I love fashion and I typically shop online so this website would be perfect for me. I would call it house of style.com you would be able to fill out a quick questionaire of your body measurments as well as upload a picture of yourself and the website would configure a replica. I would want the replica to be able to put on clothes from the website so you could see what you would look like in them. So often I order my clothes off line and yes they look amazing on the model but when I try them on not the same look. This interactive website would eliminate that because you would be able to see a actual image of what your body size would look like in the outfit! This website would definitly be every girls dream!!!!

My hero..

Growing up I always looked up to my mother as my hero because she is such a strong woman. Raising me and my older brother on her own she has shown me what it truly is to be a independent woman. My mother worked two jobs every since we were little to make ends meet. She always encouraged me to do good in school and strive for better for myself. Even with her buisy work scheduale she would never miss a basketball game or one of my dance recitals. Thats why to me she embodies what a phenomenal woman truly is. She instilled in me at a young age self confidence, drive, honesty and all the qualities that make a woman strong. I am greatful everyday to be blessed with such a amazing mother who is also my bestfriend!

My job...

In currently work at logan airport as a transportation security officer. I enjoy my job very much I get to ensure the saftey of passengers and my fellow collegues. I've encountered a number of celebritys while at work. My favorite memory was when Neyo who is one of my favorite singers ever came in to the airport. I was at terminal C in jetblue. As soon as I saw him I was so excited to meet him and he happens to be such a sweetheart. He gave me the biggest hug ever as I gushed on how much I love his music!

This is my cat shorty she is 8 years old. She enjoys making herself a home in anything she finds. Everytime we buy water she always likes to find her way into the box and take a nap. She has a beautiful bed but she prefers making her own bed out of leftover trash.

Thoughts of the effect of the Internet on the media

The internet has affect various media outlets in both a positive and negative way. The positive way it has helped get more advertisements out to a wide variety of people in a shorter time span thru emails and pop ups. This is a cheaper way of advertising for many record labels, products, and movies. Distribution of flyers or ads are not needed as much because everything is available online. Stores save money on shipping products because they can have them available to order online in which the consumer pays for shipping. When it comes to music there’s both negative and positive aspects the internet has on sales. The positive aspect would be if there is a new artist who hasn’t had much exposure website like you tube or even personal webpage’s promoting there music would help make them known. Many singers have been discovered because of the internet. The negative aspect of the effect of the internet on the music industry would be the illegal downloading. Many bootleggers who make a living off of selling illegally downloaded music CD and movies take box office sales and record sales from both the artists, actors, and production companies. I agree with the music and movie industry that people should not support illegally downloaded products because those people that work had to produce the movies and records are loosing money to take care of there families. I think the creation of music site that are legal and allow people to download for a small fee is good because those who do not have the time to go to the store can have easy access.

In my opinion the media coverage has been affected by the internet in a positive way. Now thru the internet you can be aware of breaking new throughout the world with out having to wait for it to hit the TV news station. The internet has also made it capable to check weather all over the world which is really beneficial for those who travel often. The use of the internet has only enhanced our awareness of what’s going on all over the world due to the endless amount of information available online..

My favorite music artist of all time......MRS MARY J BLIGE

My favorite artist of all time is Mary J Blige. I usually don't like to choose entertainers as insperation but there is an exception for her.  Mary J Bllige has accoplished so much in her lifetime and she has also overcomed everything from poverty, drug abuse and failed relationship. As a women going through a lot of trial and tribulations Mary J Blige represents the true come up of women, plus if your hear her albums you can hear how she has mature on every level. My personal favorite album from Mary is The Breakthrough. This is the album that shows that she's finally overcome life's adversity. From the beginning you can not only hear but feel that facts that she's finally found true love with the intro of the song "No one but you" and "take me as I am" those are two my favorite songs on the album. She has recievied  has received 9 Grammy awards and 8 multi-platinum records to date. Mary J Bige is truely the "Hip Hop Queen Of Soul".

Internet and communication....

The internet has changed the way we communicate with one another in a major way both good and bad. Thanks to the internet people who live miles apart can now communicate at a cheaper price where as long distance calling was extremely expensive. Friends and family are now able to email, Skype, Instant message and use social networking sites to keep in contact with their loved ones. I’ve heard so many stories of families being reunited thru the internet sites. Thanks to the internet many people have met there loved ones thru online dating sites. The internet has increased the way we relate to each other in a sense with the creation of chat rooms. People with common interests can meet in the chat room and have a conversation where maybe they wouldn’t have thought any one was interested. Also the creation of Skype has made it possible for family members who live far away to view each other live.


I personally prefer to communicate over the phone still or by text message. I know a lot of people who would rather Skype than visit or email rather than call. Social networking site have made it so easy to meet new friends so it’s easy for people to call someone a friend when in actuality they barely know them. I’ve sent an email that I regretted before but once you hit send it is too late. I also have received forwarded emails that were personal that someone wrote to a friend and they sent to me. There are just so many different reasons why the internet has changed the way we communicate in today society for the better and the worst.

My expectation for the course..

My expectations for this course is to learn new things about navigating the internet. Have a better understanding on what this course is about so i can leave with better understading when I started this semester.

I was able to read one blog from Donald Shepperd. Donald and myself share some similarities with this course so far. We both had some knowledge on how to use the web but have no expereince when we the blogging yet. The only thing close I use from social networking is when i try to look for a job, information on some sort of assignment when its due and when i try to find a friend on facebook.

We are going to write our blogs. Tell us what topics interest you
If you were to write a blog and find something to interest me. i love hearing stories on murder investigation and mysteries. The world in general. I haven't done too much traveling so if you were to blog on a country I would find some interest in that.

To be honest the only experience that I had online when I use facebook or apply for a job. It had come in good use when i try looking for a job.

The impact of the internet on our society..

My opinion is the internet has enhanced my life in every way making a number of things easier to find and do online. The internet is extremely convenient for every day errands now you can pay your bills online and shop which are to things I love to do. When it comes to education I feel the internet has had both a positive and negative impact. It has a positive impact on me during my years of schooling because you can locate information a lot quicker and easier than if you had to read a book. It has negatively affected education because with its convenience of easily assessable information fewer students actually read the books. With the large amount of information resources online you can Google a book summary rather than spending the time reading. Also plagiarism has become an even bigger issue now that the internet is used as a resource for materials in academics.


Politics have been enhanced by the creation of the internet because information is traveled fast threw emails. When it comes to campaigning it’s a lot cheaper to advertise thru emails and websites than pay for television commercials. The economy has been enhanced by the internet with many more jobs being created related to internet use. Also job search engines have helped increase the awareness of job opportunities available for the unemployed.

The internet has had both a positive and negative impact on entertainment. A positive impact resulting from the internet would be YouTube and all the celebrities who were found thru the site. A negative impact would have to be the fact that there is so many gossip blogs, twitter, and face book where entertainers post things and sometimes receive negative media because it was inappropriate. When it comes to research and technology I think we have advanced so much over the years because of the internet. An example would be face book and emailing with the use of those website technologies allows us to communicate with individuals who live in different countries. Research has also been enhanced due to the large data base of information provided by different websites.

Society has been hindered by the creation of the internet because more people are addicted to online sites like face book or dating sites. There is less people out making contact with people or engaging in daily interactions with there peers because of the internet. Society has also been impacted negatively by the internet because a lot of people think that what you read on the internet is always true and many have been scammed thru websites like craigslist or have even been victims of identity theft.

The internet has changed the news because you can see internationally what is taking place. Also the news allows for those individuals who may not be near a television or newspaper to easily access current news and weather both local and nationwide.

My Introduction

My name is conchetta Jenifer I am 22 years old. I currently live at home with my mother. I am a senior this year my expected graduation dat is May 2011. I am a young ambitious young lady working hard to achieve my goals in life.I have a very outgoing personality I enjoy anything that is fun and will make me laugh. I currently live in Methuen, Ma. I grew up in Lawrence, Ma in a single parent home with two siblings. I have a older brother and a little sister. I am the middle child in my family.

My interests include anything that is fun! I enjoy going to the shooting range practcing my aim. I also love dancing so I go out once in a while with my girlfriends to the club. I love music so in my spare time I listen to music or attend concerts that my favorite artists are perorming at. I also love to play basketball and work out in the gym.

I currently work fulltime for the goverment. I work for the department of homeland security also known as TSA. TSA was my first job in the field that was relevant to my degree. My career goal is to work for the FBI looking for missing and exploited children.Since I already work for the goverment I think I would be at a advantage.



In five years I hope to have completed school and have my Masters degree in Criminal Justice.Hopefully I will be started in my career with the FBI as a agent. I want to be engaged or married and in the process of purchasing a home.I want to be owning the newest infiniti G35 which happens to be my favorite sports coupe car. Most of all I hope to be happy and healthy!
